Job Summary

The Night Shift Manager role is a leadership position responsible for overseeing the night operations of a warehouse distribution center.

As the key decision-maker onsite overnight, you will lead a team of 50+ staff across picking, packing, loading, and inventory functions.

Ensure smooth handovers with the day shift managers and maintain operational continuity while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and performance.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Night Crew: Oversee the workflow and efficiency of the night crew to meet KPIs.
  • Own the Shift: Make confident decisions as the most senior leader onsite to resolve issues quickly and maintain service levels.
  • Build a Strong Team Culture: Support and mentor supervisors, celebrate wins, address performance gaps, and grow capability within the team.
  • Drive Operational Excellence: Ensure accuracy, OTIF delivery, HACCP and OH&S standards, and housekeeping compliance in the warehouse.

Requirements:
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in leading teams in warehousing or distribution environments (FMCG experience highly regarded).
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Confident problem solver with strong analytical skills to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and lead diverse personalities.
  • Inventory Management: Solid understanding of inventory management principles and warehouse operations.
