Field Service Engineer Job Description

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and ongoing maintenance of complex scientific instrumentation used in research and industrial applications.

  • Installation: Ensure optimal performance from delivery to sign-off by configuring analytical instruments and systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues remotely or in the field, ensuring timely repairs and high customer satisfaction.
  • Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance to prevent equipment failure and maintain optimal operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure analytical instruments and systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues remotely or in the field.
  • Conduct regular maintenance to prevent equipment failure.
  • Keep customers informed on the status of ongoing service requests.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or higher qualification in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in technical support, customer service, or field service engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with precision mechanics and technical troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (50%-60%) across the East Coast of Australia.
