We are seeking an accomplished Instrumentation Specialist to join our Sterilising Services Department on a part-time basis.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of disinfection and sterilisation for instruments used across the hospital.

  • Undertake general and specialised duties in disinfection and sterilisation of instruments from various clinical areas.
  • Thermal disinfection, functionality checks/inspection, packaging, and sterilisation of all instrumentation for theatres and clinical areas.
  • Comply with relevant standards, Infection Control policy, and statutory requirements.
  • Operate, monitor, interpret, and document equipment reprocessing requirements.
  • Report and document quality activities.
  • Prioritise instrumentation and processes.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Experience in instrument processing within a healthcare environment.
  • A Certificate III in Sterilisation Service or working towards completion of the course.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant standards.
  • Knowledge and experience in using electronic tracking systems.
  • A track record of prioritising workload demands.
  • The ability to work cooperatively in a team as well as independently.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manual handling principles and techniques, with the ability to perform manual handling activities.
