About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AppSec Security Specialist to join our team at Zone IT Solutions. As an AppSec Security Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our applications and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Application Security Assessments: Conduct thorough security assessments of our applications and systems to identify vulnerabilities and areas for improvement.
  • Develop Secure Coding Practices: Develop and implement secure coding practices and guidelines to ensure that our development teams are following best practices.
  • Collaborate with Development Teams: Collaborate with our software development teams to integrate security best practices into our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Monitor and Respond to Security Incidents: Monitor and respond to security incidents and breaches in a timely and effective manner.
  • Perform Regular Security Audits: Perform regular security audits and risk assessments of our applications and systems to identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with the latest application security trends and technologies to ensure that our security practices are current and effective.
  • Provide Training and Support: Provide training and support to our development teams on secure coding practices and security best practices.
  • Ensure Compliance with Security Standards: Work with our cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Related Field: A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required.
  • Proven Experience as an AppSec Security Specialist: Proven experience as an AppSec Security Specialist or in a related role is required.
  • Strong Knowledge of Application Security Best Practices: Strong knowledge of application security best practices and frameworks is required.
  • Experience with Manual and Automated Penetration Testing: Experience with manual and automated penetration testing techniques is required.
  • Knowledge of Secure Coding Practices and Common Vulnerabilities: Knowledge of secure coding practices and common vulnerabilities is required.
  • Experience with Web Application Security Tools: Experience with web application security tools such as Burp Suite or OWASP ZAP is required.
  • Ability to Analyze and Interpret Complex Data: The ability to analyze and interpret complex data and make informed decisions is required.
  • Excellent Problem-Solving and Communication Skills: Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are required.
  • Relevant Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP or CSSLP are preferred but not required.
