About the Role

This senior project engineer position is a crucial part of our building construction team. The ideal candidate will coordinate engineering functions, manage multiple projects, and provide guidance to construction activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage structural steel and facade design and construction contractor

  • Apply value engineering techniques to deliver designs that meet project targets for safety, program, and cost

  • Cordinate external and internal stakeholders to resolve conflicts and achieve project objectives

  • Review construction and work packages with approved ITPs and checklists

  • Prepare project progress reports for the wider team, clients, and building surveyors

  • Enforce and implement Spark Safety standards on site

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain alignment with company culture and values

  • Demonstrate commitment to proper business and interpersonal conduct

  • Support social procurement strategy through active participation and value addition

  • Pursue opportunities to employ priority jobseekers and procure goods and services from Aboriginal businesses and social enterprises

  • OBTAIN RELEVANT DESIGN PARAMETER INFORMATION FOR INCORPORATION INTO DETAILED DESIGNS AND CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS

  • MONITOR QUALITY AND QUANTITIES OF INCOMING EQUIPMENT AND MATERIAL, CHECK WORK DRAWINGS, CONSTRUCTION AND SPECIFICATIONS AGAINST SITE PLANS AND CONDITIONS AND ARRANGE CORRECTIONS OR MODIFICATIONS WHERE NECESSARY

  • SUPERVISE AND COORDINATE THE CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES FOR BUILDINGS WITHIN THE PROJECT. MONITOR PROGRESS, RESOLVE ISSUES, AND ENSURE THAT THE WORK IS CARRIED OUT ACCORDING TO THE APPROVED DESIGN, BUDGET, AND SCHEDULE

  • MAINTAIN ACCURATE AND DETAILED RECORDS OF PROJECT ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING DESIGN CHANGES, CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS, AND BUDGET UPDATES. PREPARE REGULAR REPORTS FOR MANAGEMENT AND STAKEHOLDERS

  • ENSURE PROJECT ENGINEERING COMPLETION IS ON TIME AND WITHIN BUDGET

  • RECORD COMPLETED WORK, COSTS INCURRED, MATERIALS USED AND RETAIN PROGRESS DRAWINGS

  • LIAISE WITH CLIENTS, CONSULTANTS, SUBCONTRACTORS, SUPPLIERS AND PLANNING AUTHORITIES TO ENSURE SATISFACTORY COMPLETION OF STRUCTURES AND CONSTRUCTION WORK

  • DEMONSTRATE A PERSONAL COMMITMENT TO HSEQ CULTURE FRAMEWORK AND LIFE SAVING RULES AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS AND EXPECTATIONS

  • DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN AN AWARENESS OF HSEQ HAZARDS AND ASSOCIATED RISKS AND DEMONSTRATE A COMMITMENT TO ELIMINATE OR MINIMISE THOSE RISKS

  • ENSURE THAT ALL NECESSARY PERMITS AND APPROVALS RELATED TO BUILDING CONSTRUCTION ARE OBTAINED

  • STAY UP TO DATE WITH LOCAL BUILDING CODES AND REGULATIONS

  • UNDERSTAND AND EFFECTIVELY UNDERTAKE HSEQ ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH ALL RELEVANT LEGAL AND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS AND ALL RELEVANT COMPANY AND GROUP POLICIES AND PROCESSES
