About The Role

As the Senior Construction Engineer, reporting to the DSS Quality Assurance Regional Manager, you will be an engineer and construction expert. You will work closely with the Project Engineers in the Construction Assessment & Delivery (CAD) team at Melbourne Water, collaborating with land development consultants, contractors, and private landowners to ensure that stormwater treatment & flood prevention infrastructure assets such as wetlands, waterways, retarding basins, and pipelines meet Melbourne Water's standards and expectations.

Your key responsibilities include :
  1. Inspect DSS construction sites across Melbourne Water's region to make practical engineering and vegetation decisions in real-time, assess and resolve field issues, and collaborate with various stakeholders.
  2. Provide input on the suitability of the Site Environmental Management Plan (SEMP) submitted by developers' consultants.
  3. Participate in project management activities, including financial aspects like variations and cost options.
About You
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental or Civil Engineering.
  • Experience in environmental, geotechnical, vegetation, SEMPs, or civil engineering projects.
  • Experience in the land development industry, preferably in government roles.
  • Ability to manage multiple large-scale site projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Leadership experience, including mentoring and coaching.
  • Strong health, safety, and environment mindset.
  • Industry White Card required.
  • Willingness to undergo medical, criminal record, and qualification checks.
  • Victorian driver's license required.

This role involves working from site four days a week in various Melbourne regions and one day from the Docklands office or home.

Salary: MW EA Level 7.1 - $115,394 + Super.
