Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Structures and Stormwater Team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who can bring strong leadership, organisational, and safety-focused capabilities to our team. As Team Leader - Structures and Stormwater, you will be responsible for supervising the daily activities of the team, ensuring efficient delivery of maintenance and repairs.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and lead the Structures and Stormwater Team to deliver scheduled and urgent maintenance across our stormwater and structural assets.
  • Perform safety checks on worksites, plant, and stormwater management systems to ensure compliance with WHS and environmental legislation.
  • Deliver consistent and decisive leadership to the team.
  • Lead, mentor, and support team development through training and performance feedback.
  • Maintain stormwater and concrete structures across our road network.
  • Scope and coordinate work with contractors to ensure all work adheres to construction standards and environmental policies.
  • Plan appropriate resourcing of plant, equipment, contractors, and labour for each project.
  • Participate in after-hours on-call roster and monitor, report, and manage incidents, hazards, and injuries following Council procedures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and experience in supervising and leading staff.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in plant and equipment used in formwork, concreting, road construction, and pipe laying, including the operation of various hand and power tools.
  • Working knowledge of employee obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act.
  • Developed written and oral communication skills, along with computer, literacy, and numeracy skills.
  • Construction Industry Training (White Card) and current MR driver's licence.
