Senior Legal Advisor Position

This role involves delivering legal services to our organization on a fixed-term contract basis. The position can be based in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth or Adelaide with a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all marketing materials comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide corporate legal, commercial and governance advice to various business units.
  • Draft, review and negotiate contracts.
  • Offer insurance product advice and documentation.
  • Interpret statutes and provide guidance on legislative reforms impacting the organization.
  • Support corporate litigation matters.
  • Provide legal advice on complaints and potential disputes, including those at AFCA.
  • Conduct staff training sessions on legal topics.
Requirements:
  • Hold tertiary qualifications (LLB or equivalent).
  • Possess a current NSW (or other Australian State) Legal Practitioner Practising Certificate – mandatory.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in a mid or top-tier firm.
  • Proven experience in providing commercial legal advice.
  • Previous experience working in an insurance and/or Australian financial services environment is beneficial.
