About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Global Energy and Sustainability strategy in APAC as Chief Sustainability Officer for APAC Energy and Renewables. This role will be part of the team leading the Equinix Energy Procurement and Sustainability program, working globally with other project teams and stakeholders to provide strategic support and leadership.

This is a global position requiring heavy collaboration with teams and consultants across various countries and time zones, with occasional travel (10-20% of the time) to Australia or Singapore.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for energy and sustainability initiatives in APAC, driving the development and implementation of Equinix's energy procurement and sustainability strategy.
  • Lead day-to-day program and project management of key energy and renewable energy workstreams, including offsite PPAs, onsite PPAs, environmental commodities, and distributed energy technologies.
  • Analyze market trends and assess renewable energy PPA opportunities across the region, providing recommendations to support global corporate sustainability objectives.
  • Negotiate complex agreements with internal and external counsel, leveraging financial modeling and analysis expertise to secure favorable terms.
  • Develop marketing materials and presentations to communicate energy and sustainability strategies to internal sales teams, executive leadership, and customers.
  • Foster strong relationships with local and international teams, facilitating collaboration and knowledge-sharing across departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, environmental science, or business administration.
  • At least 7 years of experience in renewable energy, preferably in procurement, origination, or project management.
  • Proven track record of success in negotiating complex agreements and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and drive results-oriented solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.

What We Offer

Equinix offers a competitive salary range of $150,000 - $200,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus benefits including health insurance, retirement plan matching, and paid time off.
