About the Role

The Advanced Practice Dietitian Gastroenterology will provide a primary contact service for patients on the gastroenterology waiting list, utilizing highly developed clinical assessment and management skills for clients with gastrointestinal symptoms.

This role will work with the Gastroenterology team, relevant nursing staff, and clinical mentors to ensure the service is best practice, safe, and meets the needs of this patient group.

You will be working alongside another Advanced Practice Dietitian in the Dietitian-Led gastroenterology clinic to provide specialized dietary assessment and support for patients predominantly with IBS-type symptoms.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Professional qualifications and eligibility for registration and/or membership of Dietitians Australia.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise with a minimum 10 years' experience as a Dietitian and 5 years within gastroenterology services.
  • Possess high-level skills and extensive knowledge in the area of gastroenterology, including the range of therapeutic diets required for the management of gastrointestinal conditions, identification of red flags/potential patients requiring escalation to, and assessment by a gastroenterologist.
  • A strong commitment to high-quality care.
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
