ABOUT THE JOB:
We are seeking a Full-Time Data Analyst at THQ Blackburn, VIC in a 12 month fixed term role.

For assigned initiatives, you will develop data analysis deliverables to support the successful delivery of the initiatives. Initiatives can include TSA strategic initiatives, enterprise projects, support for BAU improvement, and non-project (lite) initiatives.

As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for gathering, organising, and analysing data to provide meaningful insights that support decision-making processes within the organisation. Your primary focus will be on identifying relevant data sources, facilitating workshops to gather data requirements, evaluating data suitability for various analyses, and preparing data for visualisation and reporting using tools including Power BI and Microsoft Excel

ROLES & RESPONSIBILTES:
Data Sourcing and Workshop Facilitation:

- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data needs and requirements.
- Conduct workshops to gather data specifications and understand business objectives.
- Source data from various internal and external repositories, databases, and APIs.

Data Suitability Assessment:

- Evaluate data quality, completeness, and relevance to determine its fitness for analysis.
- Identify and address data integrity issues, anomalies, and inconsistencies.
- Implement data cleansing and validation procedures to ensure data accuracy.

Data Transformation and Preparation:

- Utilise data manipulation techniques to transform raw data into a usable format.
- Clean, filter, and aggregate data using tools like Power Query in Microsoft Excel.
- Develop data transformation procedures to ensure consistent and accurate data preparation.

Power BI Development:

- Create interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Write Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) procedures to calculate measures and KPIs.
- Implement data visualisations that effectively convey insights to stakeholders.

Microsoft Excel Proficiency:

- Utilise advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables, to analyse and summarise data.
- Develop Excel models to perform various data-related calculations and simulations.

ABOUT YOU:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in SQL to query and manipulate data in relational databases.
- Knowledge of data visualisation best practices and principles.
- Familiarity with statistical concepts and techniques is a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey insights effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing requirements.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn new technologies and analytical techniques
- Experience with data analysis tools and programming languages like Python, R, or SAS.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
- Basic understanding of data security and privacy principles.
- Prior exposure to data storytelling and communicating data-driven insights.
