About the Role

The Senior Advisor Operational Safety is a key member of our Safety and Wellbeing team, responsible for supporting the Head of Safety & Wellbeing in developing and delivering a contemporary Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) management system and strategy that aligns with our business and operational priorities.

This role operates within a team that provides advice and support across KFC, Taco Bell, and the Restaurant Support Centre, with a focus on providing expert technical risk management advice and conducting audits and inspections of WHS systems to ensure compliance with legislation, approved policies, guidelines, and risk profiles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support local consultative arrangements, including Store Safety Captains, Area Safety Leaders, and Market Safety representatives, while partnering with key stakeholders.
  • Coach Restaurant General Managers and other leaders to ensure effective management of safety and wellbeing risks.
  • Develop high-quality reports and submissions, project manage, and contribute to the development of safety initiatives, reviews, audits, and other relevant programs.
  • Conduct investigations into safety and wellbeing events to identify contributing factors, root causes, and event learnings.
  • Support the management and maintenance of the Safety Management System (SMS), including the development, review, and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Provide contemporary, expert technical risk management advice, including conducting audits and inspections of WHS systems to ensure compliance with legislation, approved policies, guidelines, and risk profiles.
  • Provide technical and subject matter expertise in the development and management of risk assessments for physical and psychosocial hazards, identifying critical risks, controls, and mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee the analysis of safety and wellbeing data to establish risk profiles, prioritize intervention strategies, and, in consultation with operations, establish and monitor corrective actions as needed.
  • Follow up, provide support, direction, and advice on safety and wellbeing events, including liaising with all parties.
  • Lead safety audits and inspections, including the development of reports.
  • Support the development of periodic safety and wellbeing reports.
About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Advisor Operational Safety to join our team. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven knowledge of WHS legislation, Australian and International Standards, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • 5-10 years' experience in a senior occupational health and safety advisory role with experience in critical risk.
  • Lead Auditor in OHS Management Systems or comprehensive knowledge of OHS auditing.
  • An current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or proven ability to deliver WHS training to a diverse audience.
