Service Desk Support Analyst Job Description

  At our organization, we are currently seeking a skilled Service Desk Support Analyst to join our team on a 6-month fixed term contract. Your primary duties will include:

  • Recording and tracking the service desk incident-solving process through to final resolution.
  • Providing customer-centric support by keeping customers informed of call progress and following the escalation process when necessary.
  • Utilizing remote tools and diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.
  • Conducting research through internal and external knowledge bases as needed.
  • Performing hands-on fixes at the desktop level when remote tools are not appropriate, including hardware repairs and delivery of peripherals.
  • Testing fixes to ensure an incident has been adequately resolved.

  Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 months to 1 year's experience in a Level 1 service desk, help desk, or call centre role.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft-based systems, including Windows, Office, Active Directory, Exchange, and Office365.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to prioritize support tasks and manage customer expectations.
  • Practical knowledge of ITIL principles and hardware peripherals associated with software such as printers and scanners.
