Empowering Families through Disability Support

The Specialist Disability Support Practitioner will provide individualized support and guidance to families with disabilities, empowering them to access and utilize available disability supports.
This role involves supporting vulnerable families in navigating complex systems of disability support, including the NDIS, disability advocates, service providers, and mainstream services.
Additionally, this position will focus on providing expertise and consultation to Child and Family Services practitioners within the Mallee area, aiming to enhance disability supports and outcomes for families.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement strategies to support families in accessing and engaging with disability-related services and skill development opportunities.
- Collaborate with families to facilitate their participation in the NDIS and related programs.
- Provide guidance and support to families in navigating systems of disability support.
- Conduct case consultations with Child and Family Services practitioners to optimize disability supports and improve outcomes.
- Hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field at degree level or associate diploma level with significant experience in disability services.
- Possess a current driver's licence and be willing to travel, with flexibility to accommodate overnight stays when required.
