Job Opportunity: Health and Safety Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team on a maximum term parental leave contract.

In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating health and safety practices, procedures, and policies in alignment with company values. Your primary objective will be to provide technical advice and support on the Safety Management System application across all departments.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing technical advice and support on the Safety Management System application across all departments.
  • Development and implementation of Health and Safety Systems in compliance with legal and company requirements.
  • Developing and implementing site hygiene monitoring and fitness for work programs.
  • Managing workers compensation and rehabilitation processes.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of Emergency Response and Crisis Management Plans.
  • Maintaining systems to manage employee exposure to industrial hazards.
  • Providing employees with adequate skills and knowledge regarding safe systems of work, policies, and procedures.

About You:

  • Possess a thorough understanding of QLD statutory obligations relevant to Workplace Health and Safety.
  • Hold a Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety or higher.
  • Hold a certificate in Rehabilitation Coordination and previous experience with Workers Compensation cases.
  • Align your high regard for personal safety and team safety with company values.
  • Able to follow a plan and adapt to changing environments.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, reliability, and commitment to working proactively.
