Team Manager Role

The primary objective of this role is to ensure performance measures are met, teams are motivated, and operating effectively and efficiently.

This involves overseeing the delivery of Eligibility Functions through two core teams and specialists. The role has direct reports, including Team Leaders, PIAWE specialists, and Dispute and Eligibility Specialists.

You will:

  • Ensure customer expectations and business objectives are met by maximising team performance.
  • Meet key financial performance objectives.
  • Inform teams of their performance and create awareness of opportunities for improvement.
  • Support Team Leaders in managing resources to drive performance.
  • Establish a broader team culture that enhances staff engagement and commitment.
  • Manage internal relationships and provide direction and support when escalated.

Key factors for success include:

  • Extensive experience in Workers Compensation or Personal Injury Claims Management.
  • Proven people leadership experience developing high-performing teams and building talent pipelines.
  • Ability to understand performance metrics and interpret data reports.
  • Understanding of regulatory and/or legislative compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to partner effectively with business leaders.
  • Comprehensive understanding of claims management models and cost drivers.
  • Ability to recognise and escalate conflict to effective resolution.
