This role is an opportunity to work with vulnerable individuals and contribute to their growth and development.

About the Position:
  • Deliver educational programs using evidence-based approaches, promoting education, employment, and independence for young people.
  • Oversee student intake, ensuring they receive tailored support to achieve their goals.
  • Develop individualised plans to cater to each student's unique needs and circumstances.
  • Regularly review students' progress, providing guidance and support to help them overcome challenges.
  • Organise activities that promote learning, social skills, and personal growth among young people.
Key Qualifications:
  • Understanding of housing systems and pathways for young people.
  • Awareness of educational opportunities, including vocational training.
  • Knowledge of multi-disciplinary issues affecting vulnerable individuals or at-risk populations.
  • Awareness of Tasmania's current housing market and its impact on low-income families.
  • Concepts of social justice, inclusion, and empowerment in practice.
  • Skills in supporting disadvantaged individuals, including reflective practice.
  • High-level interpersonal skills, effective communication, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Client feedback strategies, quality improvement processes, and initiative-taking.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of community services and resources available to young people.
  • Initiative, problem-solving, and resilience skills in challenging situations.
  • Well-developed writing and organisational skills, including accurate case-notes, reports, data collection, and correspondence.
  • Time management, computer skills, and experience working in the field.
  • A Social Work degree or equivalent tertiary qualification, and/or relevant professional experience.
