Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Desktop Environment Management: Oversee the overall compliance of the desktop environment, ensuring that all systems and software are up-to-date and functioning correctly.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a small team of technical support specialists, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's success.
  • On-Site Support: Provide on-site support to Mount Isa sites, resolving complex technical issues for IT hardware and software.
  • IT Hardware and Software Management: Configure, install, test, monitor, and maintain IT hardware and software, ensuring that all systems are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for improvement to IT support processes, tools, and services, and implement changes to enhance the team's performance.
  • Liaison with External Vendors: Liaise with 3rd party support and PC vendors to ensure that all technical issues are resolved promptly and efficiently.
  • IT Project Input: Provide input into IT projects, ensuring that the team's technical expertise is represented and that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Requirements:
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience within a leadership role, with a proven track record of success.
  • Technical Knowledge: Excellent technical knowledge of PC/desktop hardware/internal components, with a strong understanding of Windows 11 and desktop environments.
  • ITIL Knowledge: A strong understanding of ITIL based service desk systems, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Highly effective interpersonal, customer service, and documentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology will be highly regarded.
