EOI - FRP Superintendent: Lead Construction Expert

As a FRP Superintendent at Whittens, you will play a critical role in leading our construction team to deliver high-quality projects safely and efficiently. Reporting to the Project Manager, your primary responsibility will be to provide onsite leadership, coordination, and oversight of the construction workforce, ensuring all construction works meet client, HSE, quality, time, budget, and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Leadership and Coordination: Support the Project management team in championing a culture of high performance onsite, demonstrating strong and visible leadership skills through effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Workforce Management: Contribute to the manning schedule to ensure adequately skilled and qualified candidates are planned for the project, and take lead on the technical aspects of the job requirements during interviews.
- Work Program Delivery: Support the Project Manager/Construction Manager in the design and delivery of work programs, including participation in weekly reviews, ensuring agreed work program requirements are met for each component of the project and reporting variances to the Project Manager.
- Safety and Compliance: Contribute to and build a strong safety culture, consistently monitoring resource and plant productivities to ensure program requirements are met, and participate in safety investigations, implementing any actions and relevant learnings.
- Employee Performance: Proactively manage employee Supervisor's performance and conduct thorough performance discussions.
- Contract Compliance: Sound knowledge and understanding of the Contract to ensure ongoing compliance with the scope of work, specifications, drawings, and subcontracts.
- Cost Management: Monitor and control costs within your remit, particularly direct costs of plant and labor, ensuring optimization of available resources.
- Communication: Provide effective communication, information flows, procedures, and records necessary to facilitate delivery of contract and quality requirements.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Civil Superintendent overseeing similar FRP construction packages.
- Demonstrated experience working in a FIFO/DIDO capacity.
- Excellent planning, monitoring, and documentation skills.
- Demonstrated safety and environmental leadership behavior.
- Self-starter, with well-developed organizational and stakeholder management skills.
- Flexible and able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- MS Office skills, particularly Excel or planning software such as P6.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills with the ability to problem-solve.
