About the Role

The Department of Education is committed to delivering responsive services focused on equity and excellence for all students. The Head of Special Services will work with a team to create an inclusive teaching and learning environment that fosters growth and development.

  • Promote a culture of inclusivity and support within the school community, ensuring equity and excellence for students with disabilities.
  • Develop and implement high-quality teaching adjustments and strategies to meet the needs of students with disabilities in accordance with relevant legislation and policies.

About You

  • Collaborate effectively as part of a team to provide support and reasonable adjustments for students.
  • Knowledge of documentation and implementation of Individualised Learning Plans, Quality Client Identification, Disability Discrimination Act, National Disability Coordination Officer Program, and Personalised Learning.
  • Openness and willingness to learn and collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to develop and implement inclusive practices that promote equity and excellence for all students.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, and the broader school community to ensure a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives to ensure they are meeting the needs of students with disabilities.
