About the Role

  1. Manage and coordinate high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education and Inclusion Program.
  2. Lead and manage the Special Education Program and Inclusion Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed.
  3. Offer high-quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
  4. Coordinate intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention (literacy and numeracy support with the STLaN).
  5. Provide support and/or coordinate case management for students who require extensive or substantial adjustments.
  6. Support classroom teachers and other school staff to access departmental or external specialist services, professional development, and supports as needed.
  7. Participate in school decision-making processes and professional development to contribute to school goals, vision, and planning.
  8. Implement and coordinate school-wide systems, including data systems to monitor students with disability and record the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability.
  9. Maintain partnerships with parents, government agencies, and community groups to support students with disability.
  10. Manage Inclusive Education Staff and Teacher Aides.
  11. Manage financial, facilities, and curriculum resources within the Inclusive Education Explicit Improvement Agenda.
