Lead Coffee Quality Expert

We are seeking an experienced Coffee Quality Expert Lead to join our team. As a seasoned professional in the coffee industry, you will be responsible for leading and managing the quality operations of our roasting and production processes.

  • About the Role:

This is a hands-on role that requires a deep understanding of coffee roasting and quality assurance. You will lead and manage a team of professionals, oversee quality control processes, troubleshoot equipment issues, and drive continuous improvement in efficiency, sustainability, and product consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the quality operations of our roasting and production processes
  • Oversee quality control processes including tastings, cuppings, grading and reporting
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and manage external technical relationships
  • Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, sustainability, and product consistency
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including coffee, operations and commercial teams
  • Support and implement food safety, HACCP, and quality certification standards

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years' experience in coffee or related production/quality roles
  • Proven track record in roasting operations and quality assurance
  • Confident leading teams and training others in process and best practice
  • Strong understanding of green bean handling, equipment maintenance, and supply planning
  • Experience working with preventative maintenance and continuous improvement tools
  • Skilled in cupping, sensory evaluation and flavour profiling (Q Grader preferred)
  • Knowledge of HACCP, food safety and compliance frameworks
  • A calm and methodical approach to troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset
