Job Title: Coffee Operations Specialist

The role of the Coffee Operations Specialist is a vital position responsible for ensuring exceptional coffee quality every day.

As a key member of our team, you will lead and manage coffee operations, ensuring smooth production scheduling, strong quality control, and preventative maintenance across our roasting equipment.

  • Lead, train, and coach team members across coffee operations
  • Own coffee roasting schedules and green bean inventory management at the site
  • Champion quality control processes including tastings, cuppings, grading, and reporting
  • Oversee roasting plant performance and preventative maintenance plans
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and manage external technical relationships
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including coffee, operations, and commercial teams
  • Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, sustainability, and product consistency
  • Support and implement food safety, HACCP, and quality certification standards

This is a hands-on role with national influence, perfect for someone who understands the craft and science of coffee roasting and is passionate about building a quality-driven coffee culture.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 5 years' experience in coffee or related production/quality roles
  • Proven track record in coffee operations and quality assurance
  • Confident leading teams and training others in process and best practice
  • Strong understanding of green bean handling, equipment maintenance, and supply planning
  • Experience working with preventative maintenance and continuous improvement tools
  • Skilled in cupping, sensory evaluation, and flavor profiling (Q Grader preferred)
  • Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and compliance frameworks
  • A calm and methodical approach to troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset
