**The Role:**

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Receptionist at the Ballarat Animal Shelter. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service to the public, while also supporting the operational needs of the shelter.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Provide high-quality customer service to the public, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Process payments and other monetary transactions required in business processes for adoptions, reclaims, and shire invoicing
  • Assist in animal attendant duties when required, including handling animals and preparing them for adoption or rehoming
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, and perform administrative tasks as required

**Requirements:**

  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, emotive environment, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of legislation associated with the administrative requirements, specifically within the animal industry
  • Demonstrated experience with companion animals, and ability to work safely and humanely around animals
  • Driver's license and ability to perform some out-of-hours work
