Senior Workplace Health Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to assume a critical role in our Workplace Health and Safety function. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing effective strategies to promote a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop strategic plans to mitigate psychosocial risks and optimize work design, ensuring compliance with Australian health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the WHS Manager to drive Health, Safety, and Wellness performance, aligning objectives with personal, team, and functional goals.
  • Design and implement programs focused on occupational health, wellness, injury prevention, injury management, and return-to-work initiatives.
  • Support site operations by developing and executing WHS and Wellness programs.
  • Conduct risk assessments, analyzing tasks for potential psychosocial issues, and execute Amazon injury prevention activities.
  • Participate in incident investigations, particularly those related to psychosocial or mental health injuries.
  • Ensure compliance with state and Australian WHS legislation.
  • Maintain accurate WHS systems, including completed incident reports and supporting documentation.
  • Assist the WHS Manager in constructing incident prevention programs, contributing to operational requests to improve on-site Safety and positively impact accident trends.
  • Facilitate incident investigation processes and participate in WHS audits and inspections as required.
  • Coordinate training and coaching for team members as needed.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in psychology, behavioral health, public health, health science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an occupational setting, preferably with knowledge of Workplace/Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
