
Emergency Response Team Member

Ongoing employment as an On-Call Firefighter requires regular availability to work on-call hours. The role involves a base retainer and compensation for attending incidents, training sessions, and community safety activities.
About the RoleAs an On-Call Firefighter, you will be working from your local Fire Station. Your key responsibilities include:
- Community fire safety work
- Attending fires and emergencies
- Community education on fire prevention and safety
- Collaboration with other emergency services
This is a team-oriented role that demands adaptability, reliability, and availability across weekdays and weekends, including day and night work. You must live and/or work within a reasonable distance of the Fire Station to respond promptly to emergency incidents.
Essential RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you need to possess the following qualifications:
- A valid NSW Driver's Licence (minimum P1)
- Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency
- To reside and/or work within a reasonable distance of the Fire Station
Ongoing training is provided covering all aspects of firefighting and rescue, including basic life support, rope work, power tool use, and community engagement skills.
Minimum Availability and Attendance RequirementsYou are required to attend at least 33% of all calls over a six-month period and a minimum of 80% of all calls received by the brigade during compulsory availability in any four-week period, together with no less than 75% drill attendance.
