Our organization is seeking a dynamic Laboratory Supervisor to lead our dedicated team in Muswellbrook.

Job Description

The successful candidate will provide hands-on leadership and guidance to ensure accurate sampling, analysis, and reporting. They will also be responsible for monitoring the team's performance and promptly intervening when necessary.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing effective use of risk management tools at the Muswellbrook branch.
  • Monitoring the team and promptly intervening when they are not working at an acceptable level of risk.
  • Leading and directing daily activities of the laboratory work conducted by the Muswellbrook Branch.
  • Coordinating the workload of the Laboratory area through the Muswellbrook Branch.
  • Leading and directing team members to work collaboratively towards common goals.
  • Utilizing training resources effectively.
  • Developing new team members into functioning team members.
  • Providing coaching and mentoring in best practice coal preparation and testing processes.
  • Assisting with recruiting for the Laboratory and onboarding new staff.
  • Promoting attainment of Client Key Performance Indicators within the Muswellbrook branch.
  • Assisting with ad-hoc projects as required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A working knowledge of Sampling, Preparation, Analysis, Validation, and Reporting.
  • Experience with administrative tasks.
  • Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Proven time management skills and ability to handle tight deadlines.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Coal Laboratories.
  • Computer skills in Word, Excel, and CCLAS.
