Lead Laboratory Professional

The Genetics Laboratory is a major centre for genetic diagnostics, providing a comprehensive genome diagnostic service in a consultative pathology context.
The laboratory offers a wide range of assays including karyotyping, FISH, microarray and single to whole genome sequencing to assist in the diagnosis of rare diseases.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage scientific, technical and support staff, testing activities and logistics for the assigned laboratory.
- Oversee the quality, operational integrity, regulatory compliance and accreditation of laboratory services, human resource management and business operations.
- Bachelor Degree or higher degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science with relevant subjects from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Effective communication skills, ability to communicate policies and procedures, statistical evaluation of scientific data and report writing skills.
