We are seeking a seasoned expert in data governance and privacy to join our team as a Data Governance Specialist. In this role, you will play a key part in driving the implementation and maintenance of critical data governance frameworks that uphold the highest ethical standards and robust privacy protections.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive data governance frameworks to ensure responsible innovation and compliance.
  • Ensure high-quality and integrity of key data assets, fit for purpose and aligned with business needs.
  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for new projects, ensuring adherence to Australian Privacy Act 1988 and APPs.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with data privacy and responsible AI use.
  • Educate teams on 'Privacy-by-Design' principles and contribute to training programs.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in data privacy, data governance, or technology risk.
  • Practical understanding of the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and APPs.
  • Hands-on experience conducting PIAs.
  • Understanding of data management principles, including quality and lifecycle management.
  • Grasp of AI concepts and associated privacy challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative spirit.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working in media, entertainment, advertising, or technology industries.
  • Familiarity with data governance roles and cloud platforms.
  • Relevant industry certifications.
