Developing a high-quality field operations strategy is a crucial aspect of this role in regional and remote areas of Australia.

About the Role

As a Census Operations Manager, you will coordinate and lead operational teams using local knowledge and connections. You will oversee census collection activities within your area, focusing on project management, providing training, planning and administrative support to your teams, conducting daily quality checks, ensuring workplace health and safety compliance, and managing logistical activities.

  • Recruit, train and manage a small team of field staff.
  • Work remotely and/or travel to various work areas as required.
  • Develop, update and review work plans for your area of responsibility.
  • Engage with the community, establish networks and maintain relationships.
  • Promote participation in the census within the community.
  • Collaborate with other census and Australian Bureau of Statistics staff.
