Role Overview

Our department supports and encourages participation and success in sport and active recreation through grant funding, infrastructure programs, precincts, venues, and partnerships with the active industry across Queensland.

We aim to improve the health and wellbeing of all Queenslanders by assisting them to be more active.

Sport and Recreation is responsible for engaging with key stakeholders, communities, and clients to provide services facilitating local and sector-wide participation opportunities for healthy and connected communities.

  • Focus on low socio-economic locations
  • Indigenous communities (rural and remote)
  • People who face barriers in accessing sport

Services include:

  • Effective advice
  • High-quality engagement
  • Delivery of Sport and Recreation funding programs
  • Identification and provision of advice around potential infrastructure projects
  • Providing information on local and sector-wide intelligence

Key Requirements:

  • Australian citizenship, permanent residency status, or a visa permitting work in Australia
  • Current driver's licence
  • Valid Blue Card with the department

Eligibility CriteriaCitizenship/Visa Requirements

You must be an Australian citizen, have permanent residency status, or a visa permitting you to work in Australia. If you are not an Australian citizen, you will need to provide evidence of your residency status or visa, along with any conditions or restrictions.

Licences

This role undertakes travel to city, regional, and remote locations and requires a current driver's licence. You will need to provide a copy of your driver's licence prior to engagement.

Working with Children Check (Blue Card)

This role provides education, coaching, and/or support services to children and young people and requires a valid Blue Card with the department. You will need to provide a copy of your blue card, which will be validated prior to engagement.
