Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled professional to lead community engagement initiatives, building resilience and knowledge in identified at-risk communities. This role involves working closely with partners to support communities in preparation for, response to, and recovery from disasters and emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leverage specialist advice through knowledge sharing and collaborative action to develop strong relationships built on mutual trust and respect.
  • Lead state or territory based community engagement initiatives across planning, reporting, and implementation activities.
  • Work closely with Hazard Preparedness and Response teams to partner, collaborate with, and deeply understand the impact of severe weather events that impact the Australian Community.

Requirements:

  • Australia is regularly affected by severe weather events leading to increased economic impact, vulnerability, and potential magnitude of harm.
  • The focus of this team is to build resilience within Australian communities and critical sector partners, strengthening sector-wide capability across agencies.
