About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager Accounting Policy to join our team at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. As a key member of our Financial Services division, you will play a critical role in supporting the Group's strategy of building tomorrow's bank today for our customers.

The successful candidate will have excellent commercial acumen, strong analytical and commercial skills, with demonstrated ability to draw insights from accounting analysis. You will also have attention to detail and quality, as well as the ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and evaluate the activities of the accounting staff, and provide for their professional development.
  • Contribute to and author various high-profile board papers explaining complex accounting matters.
  • Implement new accounting developments.
  • Sign off material transactions from an accounting perspective.
  • Provide Group-wide accounting training and updates.
  • Analyse and solve accounting problems.
  • Prepare or lead the preparation of reports which summarise and forecast business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings, based on past, present and expected operations.
  • Produce/review accurate and timely financial reports, for internal and external use, in accordance with accounting standards.
