AGL is seeking a Senior Financial Accounting Expert to join our Group Reporting and Advisory team. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring AGL's financial reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with all relevant accounting standards.

About the role

As a Senior Financial Accounting Expert, you will be responsible for providing high-quality technical accounting advice, maintaining AGL's enterprise-wide accounting policies, and supporting the sustainability reporting team. You will also contribute to the professional growth and continuous learning of AGL's broader finance team.

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with the sustainability reporting team to ensure AGL's ESG reporting requirements are met.
  • Provide expert advice on complex accounting matters, including mergers, acquisitions, and derivatives.
  • Develop and maintain AGL's accounting policies, ensuring they remain fit for purpose as the business evolves.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the audit process and ensure all financial reporting meets required standards.
  • Oversee and manage reporting-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope.

About you

  • You have extensive technical accounting experience and a deep understanding of consolidation accounting.
  • You have experience in complex accounting matters, including M&A transaction advisory, group consolidations, and derivatives.
  • You are a qualified accountant (CA/CPA) with consulting experience, preferably from a Big 4 firm.
  • You have experience with large ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • You possess excellent stakeholder management skills and can keep stakeholders engaged and informed.
  • You are proactive and able to manage priorities with limited supervision and direction.
