Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Child Development Coordinator to join our team at Northcott, an Early Childhood partner delivering the NDIS Early Childhood Approach (ECA) service in Northern NSW, Mid North Coast, Hunter New England, Northern Sydney, and Western Sydney.

About the Role

This is a full-time position based out of our Chatswood office, covering the local region with some travel to meet children and families in their community and home environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • SUPPORT CHILD DEVELOPMENT: Utilize knowledge of 0-9 years developmental milestones to support families who have concerns about their child's development by completing observations and using information from screening tools and/or assessments.
  • IDENTIFY SUPPORT PATHWAYS: Identify and explain the most appropriate pathway of supports for each child, whether this be access to early supports or support with applying for the NDIS.
  • SUPPORT FAMILY ENGAGEMENT: Support families to connect with local mainstream and community services such as community or child health services, playgroups, childcare, parent support groups, education options, and recreation.
  • DIRECT CHILD DEVELOPMENT GOALS: Work with the family to identify their goals and priorities for their child and support them in implementing their child's NDIS plan.
Requirements
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Diploma tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education or Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Allied Health, or other relevant professional field.
  • KNOWLEDGE OF CHILD DEVELOPMENT: Understanding the importance of implementing a tailored and personalised approach to children and their families in delivering the early childhood approach.
  • REPORT WRITING AND IT SKILLS: Moderate report writing and IT skills, including database management, as you will write reports and provide details to the NDIA on a child's developmental and functional abilities.
  • COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
  • EXPERIENCE IN CHILD DEVELOPMENT: Experience providing support to families using a family-focused and strengths-based approach, demonstrated experience supporting and implementing evidence-based early childhood intervention strategies with families using a capacity-building approach.
  • COLLABORATION WITH STAKEHOLDERS: Experience working in collaboration with mainstream and community stakeholders for best outcomes for children and families.

The estimated salary for this role is between $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
