The Government of South Australia, Department for Child Protection seeks a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Chief Practitioner.

Job Description

Company Overview: The Department for Child Protection works in partnership with families, government agencies, non-government organisations, carers, and the community to care for and protect vulnerable children and young people.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, plus superannuation and benefits.

Job Summary: As a key member of the leadership team, the Chief Practitioner will provide expert practice advice, leadership, and oversight to Child Protection staff to achieve safety, stability, and optimal development for children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive evidence-based practice and provide expert clinical advice to individual clients and at a system-level.
  • Lead a team of specialists across multiple disciplines to continuously improve evidence-based practice and provide expert clinical advice and system-wide reform.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver contemporary and ethical practice and provide insights and evidence to operational and program areas.

Required Skills and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will possess specialist practice knowledge of an area relevant to Child Protection, disability service, health, and/or clients with complex needs. You will have a strong understanding of the challenges and issues facing the system, as well as significant professional knowledge of Human Services practice and relevant legislation and policy.
