CSSD Instrument Technician

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our Perioperative Service Department team.

This role will provide high quality service to theatres and other clinical areas by ensuring the sterilisation, inspection, packaging and operation of instrumentation meet the required standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Thermal disinfection inspection, packaging and sterilising of all instrumentation for theatre and other clinical areas
  • Adhere to AS/NZ standards at all times
  • Operate, interpret and document all machinery operational requirements
  • Conduct regular quality audits and report any discrepancies
  • Ensure priority of instrumentation and processes is maintained at all times

We attract patients from across the greater Northern Territory, Western Australia, remote Aboriginal communities and even offshore.

Requirements:
  • Cert 4 in Sterilisation Services or working towards certification
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instrumentation and its safe handling
  • A sound understanding of AS/NZ standards and their application
  • Experience with tracking systems and data entry
  • Endoscopy reprocessing experience or willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Intermediate computer literacy skills - including MS office and various databases
  • A passion for promoting best practice patient care
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development
