**Clinical Coding Opportunity**

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Coder to join our team in the Northern Sydney Local Health District. As a key member of our coding team, you will be responsible for accurately translating narrative descriptions of diseases, injuries, and procedures into alphanumeric codes using ICD-10-AM and assigning the correct DRG within the NSW Health and Northern Sydney Local Health District timeframes.

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing high-quality clinical coding services to the Northern Sydney Local Health District
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date coding knowledge and skills
  • Working collaboratively with other health professionals to ensure seamless patient care

**Required Skills and Qualifications**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Completion of HIMAA/OTEN coding course or relevant tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management
  • Demonstrated coding experience in a tertiary hospital using ICD-10-AM/ACHI and 3M Codefinder across a range of specialties
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of Australian Coding Standards and DRGs
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor and consistently meet coding throughput and quality KPIs
