Clinical Coding Expertise

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Coder to provide high-quality coding services to the Northern Sydney Local Health District.

As a Clinical Coder, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and consistent coding practices across the district. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to translate complex medical information into standardized alphanumeric codes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translation of narrative descriptions of diseases, injuries, and procedures into ICD-10-AM codes
  • Correct assignment of DRGs within NSW Health timeframes
  • Monitoring and meeting coding throughput and quality KPIs

Requirements:

  • Completion of HIMAA/OTEN coding course or relevant tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management
  • Demonstrated coding experience in a tertiary hospital using ICD-10-AM/ACHI and 3M Codefinder
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of Australian Coding Standards and DRGs
