Job Description

The role of an Energy Contract Specialist is to support the preparation, negotiation, and management of contracts with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.

This involves reviewing contract terms, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and facilitating smooth contract execution and administration.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining contract registers, variation registers, Lesson Learnt registers, contract compliance, submissions, insurances, bank guarantees and insurance bonds
  • Tracking and notifying project managers on key contract milestones and expiry dates
  • Drafting notices and extensions of time claims, variation proposal ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Assisting in reviewing contractual obligations and preparing contract templates
  • Providing support to prepare and forward relevant notices within designated time frames
  • Assisting the tendering team with negotiations, modifications, proof reading, assembling of response information
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in law/business/commerce/finance/engineering or equivalent
  • A working knowledge of construction contract law, including relevant Acts, regulations and industry standards preferred but not essential
  • An ability to engage and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills for a diverse and challenging workload
  • High level written skills with excellent attention to detail
