We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Education Specialist to join our Central Sterilisation Supply Department at Western Health.

As the successful candidate, you will provide education, support and in-servicing to CSSD staff to ensure best practice and safe patient outcomes are met. You will facilitate training via our tracking system used at Western Health, ensuring all staff are equipped with the necessary skills to deliver high-quality care.

In the absence of the Instrument Technician Managers, your managerial skills will be utilised to support the department.

The role reports directly to the CSSD Manager and the Sterilisation Services Manager, while working alongside a supportive wider team.

This is a full-time, ongoing position with rotational shifts, requiring flexibility and adaptability.

The Technical Education Specialist will support CSSDs across six Western Health campuses, therefore, it is essential that you are able to work effectively in multiple settings.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Possess relevant qualifications, including a Certificate IV in Sterilisation and a Certificate III in Workplace Training;
  • Have over three years of relevant clinical experience in a busy CSSD/Endoscopy department;
  • Demonstrate effective teaching and education skills, suitable for an educator's role;
  • Show excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Exhibit well-developed interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution strategies;
  • Possess knowledge of relevant standards;
  • Be committed to ongoing education and learning;
  • Show a willingness to learn and support the team;
  • Have good computer skills;
  • Be committed to maintaining high-quality standards to support safe patient care;
  • Display excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask;
  • Be able to support the management team when required;
  • Show management experience.

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
