Job Description

The role of the HR Business Partner is a key position within the organization, responsible for driving staff engagement, wellbeing, and inclusion initiatives.

This is a broad HR generalist role based in Sydney or Melbourne, reporting to the HR Manager for Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day HR operations and contribute to national and state-based HR projects.

The role covers a wide range of HR functions including recruitment, learning and development, performance evaluation, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, and WHS compliance.

  • Coordinating and overseeing the implementation of firm-wide HR policies and procedures.
  • Providing guidance to leadership on local HR laws and compliance.
  • Supporting L&D initiatives including CLE/CPD tracking and training program development.
  • Assisting with remuneration, benefits, and performance evaluation processes.
  • Driving staff engagement, wellbeing, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Supporting recruitment efforts including graduate and law school programs.
  • Assisting with WHS compliance and psychological safety programs.
  • Managing HR reporting, performance management, and grievance handling.
  • Liaising with payroll on leave and pay queries.
  • Representing HR on internal committees and working groups.
