WHS Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced WHS Advisor to join our team at Hostplus Superannuation. As a WHS Advisor, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for our employees nationwide.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert guidance on WHS matters to leaders and employees, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
- Develop and implement effective safety programs, including policy implementation, strategic planning, and hands-on execution.
- Chair the WHS Committee and ensure that the group is performing all required duties, including safety inspections, emergency evacuation drills, and training programs.
- Develop and facilitate safety-related education in consultation with the Organisational Development team.
- Maintain relevant policies, procedures, systems, information, and training programs to support and communicate effective WHS practices across the business.
- Regularly report to the Chief People Officer, including Board and Committee reports.
- Ensure workers' compensation insurance arrangements are in place and manage renewals for each office location.
- Manage and report on the Incident and Hazard registers.
- Conduct ergonomic assessments and manage third-party safety audits for all office locations.
- Manage workers' compensation claims, including creating and supporting return to work plans.
- Assist and lead investigations and reporting of workplace incidents.
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar role within a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of national WHS laws and best practices.
- Some knowledge of human resource management laws and best practices.
- Experience with injury management, Workcover claims, and rehab and return to work programs.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a high-pressure environment.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Work, Health and Safety, Human Resources, or equivalent.
