About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Building Maintenance Officer to join our team at Gough Recruitment AU. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to take on a challenging role that involves overseeing maintenance tasks, managing projects, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Management: Oversee and coordinate maintenance tasks for residential properties, including routine repairs and emergency call-outs. Ensure all work is completed to required standards and within budget.
  • Project Coordination: Assist in the planning, delivery, and monitoring of capital works and improvement projects. Collaborate with contractors and suppliers to ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all work complies with relevant health and safety regulations, as well as industry standards. Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with maintenance and project activities.
  • Vendor Liaison: Liaise with contractors and suppliers to ensure that work is completed to required standards and within budget. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Tenant Support: Respond to tenant queries and issues related to property maintenance, ensuring prompt and efficient resolutions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Previous experience in building maintenance, construction, or a technical officer role (ideally in the social housing or not-for-profit sector).
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and building compliance standards.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good understanding of construction techniques, building materials, and systems (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance management software (preferably).
  • Full Australian driving license (if required for site visits).
Salary and Benefits

This is a full-time position, offering a competitive salary of $90,000 per annum, plus superannuation and annual leave loading. You will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including access to training and development opportunities.
