Category Manager Opportunity

Perfection Fresh is one of Australia's largest privately owned fresh produce companies, with a 45-year history of continuous progress. We're the market leader in our field and employ over 2,000 people across farming sites, production facilities, research, corporate offices, and logistics operations.

This role can be based in Melbourne (Epping), Sydney (Rhodes), Brisbane (Rocklea) or Two Wells (SA). Our mission is to make fresh fruits and vegetables a more loved and essential part of everyone's life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute supply strategic plans to meet volumes, specifications, quality, and regional supply requirements.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective distribution solutions.
  • Plan, coordinate, and source products to meet category DIFOT targets, working closely with the sales team.
  • Monitor and communicate stock levels internally to ensure rotation and product quality.
  • Research and recommend new or potential product lines or extensions to drive business growth.
  • Support the New Product Development team to identify suitable products and ensure successful launches.
  • Ensure efficient allocation and weekly balancing of returnable packaging.
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience in a similar role in fresh produce is essential.
  • Strong relationships with growers and ability to negotiate contracts.
  • Business planning skills and execution capabilities to deliver customer expectations and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • A self-starter who is a team player; pro-active, persuasive, and flexible attitude.
  • Tertiary qualifications in agriculture, horticulture, or related discipline are preferred but not required.
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to travel as required.
