Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and ensure legal compliance of marketing materials.
  • Provide corporate legal, commercial and governance advice to businesses.
  • Draft, review and negotiate contracts.
  • Offer insurance product advice and documentation.
  • Interpret statutes and provide advice on legislative reforms impacting business.
  • Support corporate litigation.
  • Advise on complaints and potential disputes, including AFCA.
  • Deliver staff legal training.
  • Assist senior lawyers, general counsel & CEO's office.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience
  • Tertiary qualification (LLB or equivalent).
  • Australian Legal Practitioner Practising Certificate – mandatory.
  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience in a mid or top-tier firm.
  • Commercial legal advice provision in private practice.
  • Insurance and/or Australian financial services environment experience beneficial.
  • Pragmatic and commercial focus with understanding of the general insurance market.
  • Highly developed stakeholder and people management skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken language skills.
  • Understanding of the commercial environment of the general insurance market.
