Corporate Advisory Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a junior corporate lawyer to join our growing team. We are looking for an ambitious and dedicated individual who is eager to learn and work on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters.

Job Description:

We are seeking a junior corporate lawyer with 0-2 years' experience to work primarily with our partners and other team members. The role will involve representing clients in relation to a broad range of corporate and commercial transactions, including private and public mergers & acquisitions, equity capital markets, energy & resources project development and operations, private equity, maritime sector work, Corporations Act and regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and commercial contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legal research and document drafting;
  • Due diligence coordination and review;
  • Drafting and/or reviewing various contracts and corporate documents, and summarising them;
  • Preparing draft advices to clients for review (with clear guidance and instruction);
  • Coordinating completion activities and liaising with junior lawyers on those activities;
  • Verification and other legal reviews; and
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Between 0-2 years' experience in a reputable corporate practice group or in-house role;
  • Strong drafting skills and legal reasoning;
  • Strong commercial awareness; and
  • Experience in working in a team environment.
