Pitt and Sherry Building Surveying is a renowned organization that provides quality professional services. We help clients succeed by creating safer buildings and minimizing compliance risk through effective communication and employing skilled people.

The Role
  • Support our client base through sound technical knowledge and professionalism
  • Develop your own client base within the organization and with peer support
  • Assist in the development and growth of our Hobart office
  • Conduct regulatory assessments on commercial projects and some residential projects
  • Perform early phase compliance assessments and reporting during concept development
  • Assess project documentation against building code requirements
  • Facilitate certificate preparation, occupancy permits, certificates, and documentation
  • Manage multiple projects from beginning to end, delegating responsibilities as needed
  • Lead by example, assisting staff growth, education, and support
  • Liaise with stakeholders and provide technical assistance to clients
  • Identify improvements, efficiencies, and implement action plans with colleagues
  • Assist staff with building surveying business development matters
  • Attend site inspections and design meetings as required
What You Bring
  • Licensed Building Surveyor (unlimited applicants without this must demonstrate ability to become licensed or obtain mutual recognition)
  • 10+ years experience in similar role preferred but all levels considered
  • Degree or post-graduate qualification in Building Surveying
  • Sound knowledge of current Building Act regulations and Building Code of Australia
  • Well-informed with Building Surveyors' Code of Practice in Tasmania
  • Able to develop new business
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills meeting deadlines
  • Strong writing skills communicating with people at all levels
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work autonomously as part of a team
  • Computer literate
  • Current driver's license
