The successful candidate will have experience in a TMT team within a top-tier law firm, focusing on TMT work. They will also possess knowledge of Australian privacy, data protection, and cyber laws.

We are seeking an individual who can handle both small and large matters effectively. This includes drafting and negotiating IT/telecommunications contracts, preferably in a common law jurisdiction.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with lawyers across national offices to maintain a strong presence in the Australian market.
  • Gain exposure to significant transactions and advise clients across sectors such as technology, healthcare, media, and banking.
  • Advise on telecommunications and data centres – projects, regulatory, M&A transactions.
  • Provide governance, regulatory advice, compliance, investments on data & AI.
  • Support incident response, law enforcement engagement, regulatory advice on cyber matters.
  • Conduct outsourcing – technology and business process outsourcing.
  • Assist with corporate – business separations, systems integrations, carve outs.
  • Pursue digital transformation projects.
  • Advise startups and Innovation – advisory, transactions, capital raises.
  • Consult on media – regulatory matters, broadcasting rights.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Experience in a TMT team within a top-tier law firm, focusing on TMT work.
  • Knowledge of Australian privacy, data protection, and cyber laws.
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating IT/telecommunications contracts, preferably in a common law jurisdiction.
