Project Manager Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to join our Program Performance team in Melbourne and work closely with Defence clients in VIC.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead the execution of Capital Works projects for VIC Defence Bases, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, working collaboratively with stakeholders to meet timeframes and specifications.
  • Oversee greatly varying scopes of works on projects from concept design through to handover, balancing multiple priorities and resources.
  • Manage change, quality, health, safety, and risk elements, maintaining a high level of professionalism and expertise.
  • Support multiple concurrent projects across the entire life cycle, including design management, tendering, contract administration, financial management, project scheduling, and risk management.
  • Provide regular reports to senior leaders on status, progress, and completion of projects, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
Key Requirements:
  • Proven understanding of Project Management principles and a passion for delivering infrastructure projects that make a positive impact.
  • Consultancy experience and Defence background, with a focus on strategic planning and stakeholder engagement.
  • Qualifications in technical disciplines such as engineering, project management, or construction management, with a strong academic record.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, managing competing priorities and expectations.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building trust and rapport.
  • Australian citizenship and eligibility for security clearance, meeting all relevant requirements determined by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).
